You must be at least 18 years of age to use this Site. Trading futures, options, and stocks involves entering into financial contracts, which requires legal capacity. By using the Site, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old. If you are under 18, you may not use the Site.

02—Educational Purpose
This Site Is for Education Only
The Trapped Trader is an educational resource. Every article, blog post, course lesson, framework, checklist, and piece of content on this Site is produced for the sole purpose of trading education. The goal is to help traders understand markets, trading psychology, risk management, and execution frameworks.
The Trapped Trader is not a financial advisory service, investment management firm, broker-dealer, or any form of regulated financial service. We do not manage accounts, make investment decisions on your behalf, or provide personalized guidance tailored to your individual financial situation.
Content on this Site reflects the personal trading experience, research, and opinions of Jon Lasley. It represents one trader’s perspective and framework, not a universal system or professional advisory service.
03—Not Financial Advice
Nothing Here Is Financial Advice
Jon Lasley is not a licensed financial advisor, registered investment advisor (RIA), broker-dealer, or any other form of regulated financial professional.
Nothing on this Site constitutes financial advice, investment advice, investment recommendations, trading signals, or a solicitation to buy or sell any financial instrument. This applies to all content: blog posts, course lessons, frameworks, protocols, worked examples, social media posts, email newsletters, and any other material associated with The Trapped Trader.
Content on this Site is based on personal trading experience and publicly available research. It is shared for educational purposes only. The frameworks and protocols described, such as the Pre-Execution Protocol, are tools for personal use developed from one trader’s experience. They are not recommendations for any specific person to take any specific trade.
Before making any trading or investment decisions, consult a qualified financial professional who understands your individual financial situation, risk tolerance, and investment objectives.
04—Trading Risk Disclosure
The Risks You Take On When You Trade
Trading financial instruments involves substantial risk of loss. You should carefully consider whether trading is suitable for you in light of your financial circumstances. Understand the following before you trade:
- Futures trading: Futures contracts involve leverage. A relatively small market movement can result in a loss that substantially exceeds your initial deposit. You may lose more than you put in. Futures trading is not appropriate for all investors.
- Options trading: Options involve risk and are not suitable for all investors. Options buyers may lose the entire premium paid. Options sellers face potentially unlimited loss on uncovered (naked) positions. Options can expire worthless regardless of your directional view.
- Stock trading: Stock prices can and do go to zero. Margin trading of stocks amplifies both gains and losses. Day trading stocks carries its own specific risks, including regulatory capital requirements under the Pattern Day Trader rule.
- Prop firm evaluations: Participation in proprietary trading firm evaluations involves evaluation fees that are typically non-refundable. Passing an evaluation is not guaranteed. Prop firm rules, pricing, and structures change frequently and vary by firm.
- Past performance: Any reference to historical results, performance statistics, or win rates on this Site is not indicative of future results. Markets change. Edges erode. What worked in one market environment may not work in another.
Trading is not suitable for all investors. Do not trade with money you cannot afford to lose.
